Illegal buses not to be allowed in Punjab: SAD Print E-mail

FATEHGARH SAHIB: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Acting president and Member Parliament Sukhbir Badal said that illegal plying of buses will not be allowed in Punjab at any cost.  


Talking to this correspondent at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib before presiding over meeting of SAD workers related with late SGPC president Gurcharan Singh Tohra’s death anniversary function, Sukhbir said that it was clear cut directions of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that there will be no illegal plying of buses in the state.

When the media reports of  formation of a bogus company -Baba Budha Sahib bus Service which allegedly belonged to  Punjab Assembly Speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon family and involved in illegal plying of buses, brought to notice of Sukhbir he could not give any satisfactory  reply but targeted  Congress leaders on this issue.

He said that earlier several senior Congress leaders including Avtar Henry, Jasbir Singh Dimpa used their influence for illegal plying of buses of their  companies.

Talking to media persons, when asked his stand against Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s former media advisor Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, Sukhbir said that law would take his own case.

On the apprehensions of disturbance of peaceful atmosphere due to tussle between Municipal Corporation, Patiala Commissioner  S.K. Ahluwalia and controversial Mayor Vishnu Sharma, Sukhbir ruled out of possibility of any trouble after the  re-appointment of Ahluwalia as MC, Patiala Commissioner.  

On the fixation of age of Youth Akali Dal president, Sukhbir said that serious discussions are being held to decide these factor and other factors to strengthen the Dal.  He said that SAD would be restructured from ground level and new appointments would be made in SADto fill the vacant posts of various office bearers of the party.

When asked SGPC and SAD ignored late SGPC president Gurcharan Singh Tohra and did not fulfill promises made on Tohra’s previous death anniversaries, Sukhbir first asked the media persons about the promises and when media persons gave him detail of some promises, he said that all promises would be fulfilled soon. He said that SAD is observing the death anniversary oflate Tohra on March 25 at grand scale.

He said that due compensation would be given to those farmers, whose crops were hit by hailstorms.  He alleged that Dr Manmohan Singh led UPA government has badly failed to control inflation in country but Punjab government is making all efforts to provide goods to people at affordable prices.

Daljit Singh Cheema, Advisor to Punjab CM, senior Akali leaders Prem Singh Chandumajra, Harmail Singh Tohra, Randhir Singh Cheema, Didar Singh Bhatti, Kirpal Singh Libra,  Ajaib Singh Mukhmailpur, Dalip Singh Pandhi, Gurpreet Singh Bhatti, Tejinder  Singh Sadhu, Satwinder Kaur Dhaliwal also expressed their views.
