Google VP shares innovative ideas at CIIS

FATEHGARH SAHIB: The success of the world's most popular and perhaps the largest search engine google.com personifies not only the best available on the Internet but also goes on to explain how a well designed internet product can really go a long way in shaping lives of people across the globe.

These ideas formed the quintessential of lecture delivered by Ms Sukhinder Cassidy, Vice President, Sales and Operations for Asia Pacific and Latin America operations of Google.com at a guest lecture organized by Canadian Institute for International Studies (CIIS), Jalvehra of district Fatehgarh Sahib.

Cassidy had been especially invited to share her experiences and vision regarding the virtual world of Internet and its possibilities in her lecture 'Advantage Internet' with the industrial delegates of the region, faculty and students of CIIS. Cassidy who is in India these days explained to the audience how technology has revolutionized our day-to-day life. "Beginning from a humble start google.com over the years has emerged as a leader in its genre of search engines. She said that the sheer range and scope of our flagship search engine is so huge but it is not only the size but the quantum of information and the relative ease in accessing that information which distinguishes goggle from the rest", asserted Cassidy.

Further, it is the quality that matters in finality of things and it will certainly be no exaggeration if we rate goggle on top, claimed Cassidy, who went on to explain that with its latest addition 'Goggle Earth' which combines the power of Goggle Search with satellite imagery, maps, and terrain and 3D buildings to put the world's geographic information at one's fingertips, goggle has the best to offer on earth. At Goggle earth one can very easily search for schools, parks, restaurants, hotels and houses. It is a very user-friendly tool, which could be tilted and rotated to give 3D view. This is what subscribers seek and we facilitate it up to their expectations, even more than that, added Cassidy.

Cassidy has also mentioned about the orkut website and tremendous opportunities available with the website, how it helping connect people with whom they have lost contact. The tremendous and overwhelming response being received by Orkut worldwide is the real realization of our convictions which have been the defining component in our success story, concluded Cassidy.
