LUDHIANA: Punjab Chief Minsiter Parkash Singh Badal Saturday announced to scrap the contract labour system in all the Municipal Corporations in the state for performing cleanliness and directed the Municipal Commissioners to initiate the process for regular recruitment of required Safari Sewaks on vacant posts.

Badal was addressing a largely attended State Level function organized to observe   116th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Rattan Dr. B.R.Ambedkar here.

Badal said that to fulfill the dreams of Dr. B R Ambedkar of the upliftment  of weaker sections/ Dalits, excellent education facilities to the brilliant students belonging  to down trodden families would be the top priority of his Govt. under which  free education up to University levels for the poor students would be provided.

On the occasion,  Badal  released a brochure containing various schemes for the upliftment of  SC and BC classes and distributed cheques of various social security schemes to the beneficiaries.                      

Charanjit Singh Atwal Deputy Speaker Lok Sabha addressing the function said that Dr.  B R Ambedkar was the real Massiah of Dalits, who ensured the equal opportunities for all sections of the society under the  Constitution of the country. He demanded to provide excellent education facilities   to Dalits and suggested to enhance  the income limit for poor families from Rs 30000 to Rs 60,000  for providing subsidized atta-dal to the poor Dalit families.
