CHANDIGARH: Santosh Kumar aged 51 died in a fatal accident at the crossing of between Santro car and Activa scooter at the crossing of sector 20-21-33-34 on Monday morning. The deceased was a contractor of SD college sector 32 canteen. 

According to the police, Santosh Kumar was riding a scooter (registration number CH03M-3467). He was approaching from Sector 32 towards Piccadily in Sector 35 when the fatal mishap occurred. 

Police officials added that the driver of Santro (registration number PB 28B-4168) ran away away his vehicle from the site of accident. 

Santosh was immediately rushed to the Government Multi Specialty hospital sector 16 and was  declared brought dead by the doctors.  

When contacted SHO Sector 34, Prem Chauhan informed that the body of the deceased is mortuary of Sector 16. He added that after postmortem the body would be handed over to his family on Tuesday.
