Mata Gujri M.Com students given warm farewell Print E-mail

FATEHGARH SAHIB: The final year M .Com students of Mata Gujri College (MGC), Fatehgarh Sahib were on Friday given warm send -off by M. Com first year students. College principal Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia was chief guest of the function.

Inderpreet Kaur welcomed the chief guest, staff members and senior outgoing students. Variety of cultural items was presented by the students. Outgoing students presented songs to complement principal and other teachers of the Post Graduate Department of Commerce.

Paramjit Kaur was declared Miss Commerce and Shaminder Kaur Miss Farewell. Amandeep Kaur won modeling contest, Maneet won glass on head walk, Raman bagged fastest reverse counting competition and Heena won Musical Chair contest. Avneet Kaur offered farewell words in the honor of senior students. Paramjit Kaur presented vote of thanks on behalf of outgoing students.
 
While wishing good luck to the students principal Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia said that in the era of globalization and liberalization lot of avenues and opportunities are opening up and there won’t be any dearth of jobs for commerce students who posses the required skills and capabilities.

Prof . Kashmir Singh Ajnala, Head of the Commerce Department speaking on the occasion motivated the students to aim at excellence in life. He further said the service sector is emerging as a key sector in Indian economy and the fundamentals of the service sector is the knowledge base of the people. Dr Ajnala advised the students to develop knowledge data base in order to be market relevant. Offering a special piece of advise, Dr Ajnala said girls should achieve economic independence. Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha, Head of Management Department also expressed his views.
