FATEHGARH SAHIB: Producing electricity from road may sound strange to most of the people but the students of Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology (BGIET), Sangrur are ready to make it a reality through their project ‘Power Road’.
As per the college authorities, realising the need of finding alternative sources of energy in present scenario, a team of budding technocrats of ECE and ME 8th Semester. Royaldeep Singh Lamba, Arvind Attari, Navrish Kaushal, Nobel Preet Singh, Neeraj Sharma and Rahul Thakur taxed their innovativeness and came with an entirely new concept of generating electricity from road. This concept was highly acclaimed by research fraternity when these young researchers presented their project model and delivered a seminar at ‘Grass Root Innovative Augmentation Network’ (GIAN), Jaipur. H.S. Jawandha, Chairman of Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions and Dr. Tanuja Srivastava, Director BGIET said that it is a matter of great honour and pleasure that keeping in view the future prospects of this project ‘National Innovation Foundation, Ahmedabad, has approved it and has given monitory grant to the students to pursue their project. They said that the process of getting the project patented is also in the final stage. They added that the success of this project will go a long way in over coming the power crisis that our country is facing. Appreciating the creativity and efforts made by students H.S. Jawandha, Chairman said that the innovative ideas and the enthusiastic efforts made by students to materialize these ideas speak volumes of their commitment to contribute toward technological advancement and thereby the progress of country. |
