CHANDIGARH: Harjinder Kaur, Mayor and P.S. Aujla, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh Monday opened the Multi coloured water feature constructed in the Green Belt of the sector 29, Chandigarh at a estimated cost of Rs. 19.36 lakhs, for the General Public.
According to the spokesman of MCC this Green Belt became entitled for construction of a water feature after its declaration as a special Garden by the UT Administration in consonance with the laid down policy for providing water features in the Green Belts. The water body of this fountain of size of 50'x50'; has been constructed in RCC with a water depth of two feet during operation of fountains. It has a bowl type structure in its center which houses a central nozzle having 12 No. smaller nozzles. The central nozzle is surrounded by a circular ring fountain containing 52 No. nozzles. The overflowing water falling from the circular circumference of the bowls forms a circular sheet of water. Four geyser type fountains have been erected on raised inverted bowl shape platforms in the four corners on the floor of the water body. One hundred and fourteen lights in blue, red, green and yellow colours have been fixed under and around the various water features, which provide a multi-coloured effect to whole the structure. in its endeavor to provide attractive and healthy environment to the residents of Chandigarh, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh has developed Shivalik Garden along with a unique water feature in the recent past at Manimajra, Similarly, another small water feature is also under construction at the Mini Rose Garden in sector 24. |
