Captain Amarinder SinghPATIALA: Former chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh in a letter written to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal protested against withdrawl of his security by state government and sought to post back security staff of his choice.

Amarinder Singh has asked Punjab Chief Minister to appoint Superintendent of Police Khubi Ram as his security in charge. Amarinder has also extended good wishes to Badal for his present job.

In letter written to Badal a few days back, Amarinder said that "when you were in opposition and you being covered by Z plus security, I gave you the security detail and officer in charge of your security of your choice, as also other officers included in you security detail."

An unsigned copy of letter further said that from time to time you security was enhanced as per our threat perception or at your request. My standing instructions to 'my' DGP, was to meet your requirements.

Amarinder Singh further said that "Recently you have withdrawn my CRP and Commando details and given me PAP personnel. You have also posted officers whom I don't know.  You above all should know that security is a serious matter and officers and men should be appointed in which the coveree has confidence. It is because of this that you had NSG and Haryana commandos and officers of your choice when you were CM."

Amarinder Singh said, " I would appreciate it if my security is resorted as it was. I would also like my security in charge to be under Khubi Ram as SP in charge.  GS Bedi and Ashis Kapoor as the two DSP's. Two inspectors are also to be posted; Khubi Ram can choose these two. The detail comprises seven sections, as you had as ex CM, and as I am expected to have in my security category. Could you kindly pass these instructions to your DGP".

It was pertinent to mentioned that Khubi Ram, who have served as SP in charge security of Capt. Amarinder Singh during his tenure of chief minister- ship. Besides guarding him Khubi ram has become close confident of Capt. Amarinder Singh. Capt. Singh has full confidence of him and took him  (Khubi Ram)who accomapnied Capt. Singh on visits abroad including Dubai.
