HAMIRPUR: Fire brand BJP MP and a devout Sikh leader, Navjot Singh Sidhu said Saturday that the ongoing crisis in Punjab will be blown over within next one week as the Punjab chief Minister, Prakash Singh Badal was doing his best to solve the tangle.

Sidhu cautioned that the present situation in the state was of religious nature and the political persons should not interfere into that.
 
Talking with reporters here, he said Badal was doing his best to solve the issue and the government decision not to vacate the deras was a positive step in this direction.

He said that Badal had already held discussions with leaders of Sikh community and other political parties and he was sure that the writ of Badal would prevail on all as he was respected by all in the state.

Sidhu said that there was a need for the peace and normalcy in the state so that investments were brought to the state. The open conflict would not help the Punjab to flourish further.

The BJP leader refused to say anything on the Sacha Sauda dera people going to the Supreme Court. He said, matter being Sub Judice, he offer no comments.

Sidhu who was in the state to canvass for the BJP nominee, Prem Kumar Dhumal expressed optimism that the party would win the election and the rout of Congress was imminent.
