CHANDIGARH: The revised rates of Dearness Relief (DR), i.e. 35 per cent, for the Central Government pensioners or family pensioners will be effective with effect from January 1, 2007.
In a memorandum issued here Tuesday, it was mentioned that the orders would apply to all Civilian Central Government pensioners or family pensioners, the Armed Forces Pensioners, Civilian Pensioners paid out of Defence Service Estimates, All India Service pensioners, Railway pensioners and the Burma Civilian Pensioners or family pensioners and pensioners or families of displaced Government pensioners from Pakistan who are Indian Nationals but receiving pensions on behalf of Government of Pakistan and who are in receipt of ad-hoc ex-gratia monthly allowance of Rs. 1275. The orders would also be applicable to the Central Government employees who had drawn lump sum amount on absorption in a PSU or an Autonomous body and have become eligible to restoration of one-third commuted portion of pension as well as revision of the restored amount as per the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare of the Government of India orders, would also be entitled to the payment of DR at the rate 35 per cent on full pension, i.e., the revised pension which the absorbed employee would have received on the date of restoration had he not drawn lump sum payment on absorption and Dearness Pension subject to the fulfillment of the conditions laid down. The surviving CPF beneficiaries who had retired from service between the period November 18, 1960 to December 31, 1985 and are in receipt of ex-gratia at the rate of Rs. 600 per month with effect from November 1, 1997 under the department’s order are also entitled to get DR at the revised rate. |
