CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda Saturday announced to institute a Chair named after great saint Kabir at the Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak so as to benefit the people with his wisdom and experiences.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing a large gathering at a State level function organised to mark 609th birthday of Saint Kabir in Rohtak today, also announced to rename old Gohana bus stand as Saint Kabir Chowk so as to commemorate his memory. While paying his rich tributes to Saint Kabir, Hooda said that he gave a new direction to the society by striving hard to eradicate social evils like superstitions, casteism and emerged as a social crusador. He said that Saint Kabir was a man of simple living. Mr. Hooda said that although God has created all human beings equal yet some leaders having vested interests had tried to divide the society by drawing the lines of casteism so as to gain political mileage. Such ill-designs would not succeed. He reiterated that he never tried to get political mileage by adopting unfair means and had always followed the path of truth.
