CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has decided in principal to implement Land Pooling Technique in urban areas in the state on Gujrat Pattern. This was stated here Monday by Manoranjan Kalia, Local Govt. and Industry Minister Punjab.
Disclosing this here he said that under Land Pooling Scheme Land would be acquired from farmers with their consent and out of total land acquired 60 percent land would be returned to the farmer after fully developed and that too in the shape of plots. Farmer could sell his 60 percent share as and when he wants. He could even sell it after constructing house on plots allotted to him against 60 PC Land share. Kalia further said that with this Land Pooling Scheme price of land of farmer would increase many folds. Out of remaining 40 percent, 15 percent would go for roads, 5 percent for parks, 5 percent for Community Centre and 15 percent with government. D.S. Bains, Principal Secretary, Local Government said that a team has already been constituted to undertake a tour to Gujrat to study the scheme in depth and explore the possibilities to replicate the scheme in the state.. Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included, Pardeep Chowdhry, Managing Director, Punjab State Water Supply and Sewerage Board and officers of concerned departments. |
