Amarinder Singh to miss the grand "Monsoon Wedding"

PATIALA: Former chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh will miss the "Monsoon Wedding", the grand cremoney of his nephew Jagat Singh's marriage  to be held on July 7 at Chail in Himachal Pardesh. 



Jagat Singh is son of former Foreign Affairs minsiter Natwar Singh whop is married to cousin sister of Amarinder Singh.

Though Amarinder Singh, now in London for his medical treatment, is expected to return in seond week of July but Jagat Singh has fixed date of marriage on July 7 which is considered auspicious for marriages world wide, the family sources said.

It is learnt that Amarinder Singh's whole family including his mother Rajamata Mohinder Kaur, wife Preneet Kaur-MP, Son Ranider Singh his in-laws are likely to participate in the marriage to be held at 'Blossoms', a bungalow owned by Mohinder Kaur at Chail, in Himachal Pardesh.

Sources closed to Moti Bagh Palace said that Jagat Singh will marry 'Somaya', the sister of Andleeb Sehgal, who was also named an accused in the oil for food scam. They were partners of Hamdan Exports which has assumed special significance in oil for food scam. Their freiendship is well known in political cicles.
Natasha Singh ex-wife of Jagat Singh was found dead in mysterious circumstances on March 17, 2002. Jagat Singh's father-in-law was also found dead, in equally mysterious circumstances, in a hotel in Katmandu later. Andleeb Sehgal and Jagat Singh are related through Natasha Singh also as Andleeb Sehgal was distantly related to Natasha.

The family of Amarinder Singh is expected to reach Chail on Tuesday to over see arragements for the grand marriage. Only the close family members are expected to attend the marriage. No Congress leader is expected at the ceremony due to political reasons.
