NAWANSHEHAR: Activists of district unit of Anti-toll Plaza Punjab Sangharsh Committee led by Patron Darshan Singh Mattoo and district president Manjit Singh Thursday gave a memorandum to the CM Punjab Parkash Singh urging him to remove the recently imposed toll plaza on vehicles in the state.

The memorendum was submitted through Deputy Commissioner Nawanshehar. It siad that the transports and the vehicle-owners were already paying four kinds of road taxes in the state and now the imposition of toll plaza on them.The CM was also reminded of his assurance to look at the issue in sympathetic manner during a meeting with him on April 16 at his Chandigarh residence. In case the appropriate remedial measures were not taken soon, the Sangharsh Committee would resort to a statewide "chakka-jam" on July 18, warned the Committee.
