NAWANSHEHAR: Continuing their awareness drive against female foeticide and drugs, activists of Upkar Coordination Society last evening took out a candlelight march in the streets of nearby Aur town.

Besides lighted candles, they were also raising slogans and carrying placards which read 'kanya bhroon hatiya paap hai", "nashian de beopari murdabad", "dhian de katal murdabad", zila nawanshahr di ik pehchan, larki larka ik saman".

The town residents welcomed the rally by organising "chhabeels" and snacks. Earlier, DC Bhawna Garg flagged off the rally in six special vehicles from Vishavkarma Mandir here. Artists of "performance association" staged a play on femicide prior to the departure of the rally.
