ROPAR: Four persons were killed and 25 others injured when a truck tipper overturned near Bazidpur on Bela-Behrampur Bet road in Chamkaur sahib sub division of Ropar district Tuewsday evening.

According to information the accident occurred around 4.30 PM when the speeding truck tipper no.HR 68-0861 carrying migrant labourers including women and children was going from Behrampur Bet to Morinda.As it reached near village Bazidpur, it failed to negotiate a turn and overturned and rolled down to roadside ditch resulting in to the death of two women and a man on the spot. One injured child succumbed to injuries at civil hospital in Chamkaur Sahib.

As many as 18 injured were admitted in civil hospital Chamkaur sahib while 7 seriously injured were referred to PGI Chandigarh.

The migrant labourers were returning in the truck tipper belonging to contractor Kuldeep Singh after completing the construction work at Behrampur Bet.
