CHANDIGARH: Cricket legandry Kapil Dev Nikhanj was among 47 persons who donated blood during the special camp organised by the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association in collaboration with Rotary and Blood Centre, Sector 37, at the CLTA Tennis Stadium in Sector 10 here Wednesday.
The cricket icon also inaugurated the blood donation camp with a theme 'be a sport -- donate blood." CLTA chairman Rajan Kashyap showed Kapil Dev the tennis facilities available for training. Accompanied by the CLTA officials, Kapil Dev also met the seven trainees from Comonwealth Asian countries, trainees of the Armymen and the Rural Tennis Academy (CHART). Kapil also interacted with other CLTA trainees. Appreciating the facilities available for tennis training at the CLTA Complex, Kapil Dev said "the CLTA players are performing well." Talking with the players, Kapil Dev advised that they should not ask for an autograph. Instead they should attain such position that they are in a position to give their authographs. Kapil later obliged the players with his autograph. |
