CHANDIGARH: A deputation of Jalandhar Chamber of Industries & Commerce today called on Punjab industries Minister,  Manoranjan Kalia and submitted a charter of demands.

Responding on their demands,  Kalia said that General Managers at District Industry Centers would hold meeting once in a month to educate the Industrialists regarding schemes and polices of industries department and facilities being provided by the government for Industrialists.

Giving sympathetic hearing to their genuine demands Mr. Kalia said all the quality marketing centers in the state would be upgraded   with necessary infrastructure regarding single window clearance at district level.  Kalia Said that Industrial facilitation Act has been framed and after approval of draft rules Act would be implemented, in which single window committee would be headed by the respective Deputy Commissioners who would clear their cases and if the industrialists would not be satisfied then they could go in state level committee which was headed by the Industry Minister.

Replying on demands of notification of Master plan for Jalandhar, the Minister said that the plan was in pipeline and  suggestion/objections would be taken before giving it final touch. Redressing the problems of street lights in Focal Point,  Kalia said that the lights would be provided at the earliest.

Later on the Industrialists thanked the State Government for providing uninterrupted power supply to Industry Sector and despite scorching heat power cuts were also not imposed.

Kalia assured the Industrialists that their remaining demands would be cleared after discussing with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
