WAGHA:  Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Ambika Soni Wednesday announced that Department of Tourism and Culture, Government of India in association with state Tourism Department would promote Tourism vigoursly in the holy city of Amritsar.

Ambika Soni shared her views with the media here before crossing over to Pakistan along with the Member Rajya Sabha Rajiv Shukla. They are expected to return India tomorrow after releasing the Indian Movie Taj Mahal in Pakistan.

Talking to the media persons Ambika Soni said that this is first chance in the Indian history particularly after the partition between India and Pakistan that Bollywood production “TajMahal” Premier release going to be held at neighboring nation Pakistan.

Talking about the Bollywood production ‘Taj Mahal’ Soni said, “ This time our Pakistani brothers would be able to watch Indian culture through this movie on big screen. During our visit in Pakistan we would request the Pakistani film producers and artists to organize film fairs of Pakistan movies on Indian Territory to boost up Lollywood industry. This would strengthen relationship between the masses and artists and film producers in both the nations”.

Talking about the opening of visa centre in the holy city of Amritsar, Ambika Soni while laying emphasis said, “ Opening of Visa Centre is the utmost requirement to make success Amritsar-Lahore and Amritsar – Nanakana Sahib Bus service.    In this regard our ministry has already approached the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Foreign Affair”.

Adding further she said, “ I am sure that Union Government of India to promote Tourism in the holy city of Amritsar would certainly renovate the Indo-Pak International Wagah Border while giving beautiful look besides the creation of Tourist Circuit”.

On Pakistani side Ambika Soni was received and welcomed by the Agriculture Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab Janab Shaquat Ali Bhatti and Deputy High Commissioner of Indian High Commission posted at Islamabad the national capital of Pakistan TCR Raghvan.
