AMRITSAR: Punjab Police Head constable Pawan Kumar (gunman of former congress MLA Jasbir Singh Dimpa) who was remanded in police custody in a theft case was found having fracture on his legduring the medical examination on Friday.
Pawan Kumar alleged that few days back he was arrested by the Police station Beas where he was given third degree physical torture even his legs was parted in opposite direction. He alleged that during police custody the interrogating team of Punjab police inflicted multiple injuries on him. When contacted SP (Superintendent of Police) Headquarter Dilbag Singh said that the DIG Border Range Amritsar has ordered a high-level enquiry against the DSP concerned and SHO of Police Station Beas. Adding further Dilbag Singh said that Pawan Kumar was interrogated during the supervision of DSP concerned and SHO Beas and as a reason DIG ordered enquiry against the two police officials for allegedly inflicting grievous injuries to Pawan Kumar. The Amritsar jail authorities had Thursday refused to lodge Pawan Kumar in the jail on completion of police remand due to his deteriorated condition. He was sent to civil hospital Amritsr.
