ROPAR: Baba Farid Memorial Society would soon launch a website on Baba Farid, disclosed society General Secretary Rupinder Singh while addressing a seminar organised by the Ropar Tourism and Culture Society and Zila Likhari Sabha Ropar in the memory of Baba Farid at local Shiwalik Public School Sunday.

 

He said the all type of information regarding Baba Farid’s life including his ‘shalokas’ etc. would be put on the website so that people could know about Baba Farid’s life and his work.

While speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Alok Shekhar said that Baba Farid did not belong to any particular area or section but to the whole world and his message was universally relevant even today.
Baba Farid Society organising secretary Inderjit Singh Sharma informed that that the society had plans to hold a conference on Baba Farid in Pakistan in the end of this year or early next year.

Noted litterateur Dr.Brahm Jagdish Singh and Prof. Pritpal Singh, who were key speakers on the occasion threw light on various aspects of Baba Farid’s life. They said that Baba Farid was ancient poet with modern thought.

Assistant Commissioner(General)Rajesh Tripathi,Zila Likhari Sabha Ropar president Dr.Hem Kiran, general secretary Gurinder Singh Preet, Kagidhar Kanya Pathshala president Maninderpal Singh Sahni, District language Officer S.S.Nanda also spoke on the occasion.
