Punjab govt to revamp power supply system in Patti Print E-mail

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has planned to revamp the power supply system in Patti and its surrounding areas to mitigate the shortage and other load related problems in power supply.

Disclosing this here Friday Adesh Partap Singh Kairon, Food, Civil Supply & Consumer affairs and I.T. Minister, Punjab informed that as per the instruction given by him to Punjab State Electricity Board, they had agreed to install one additional 12.5 MVA 66/11KV transformers to be engaged by 30th September 2007 in Patti. This new transformer would ensure regular, uninterrupted, with full load capacity power supply in the Patti area and in case of any fault in the existing set-up this transformer would also took over all load, added Minister.

Kairon further informed that two more new transformers 6.3/8MVA 66/11 KV (each) would also be installed on similar manner at Sub-stations Harike and Kacha Pucca to be commissioned by 15th August, 2007 and 15th September, 2007respectively. With the installation of these transformers the prevailing situations of power supply in these areas would become much better, added minister.
