CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has constituted a state level committee to Celebrate 150th" Anniversary of the call for National Independent movement by Sat Guru Ram Singh Ji in the year 1857.

An official spokesman said here Monday that Chief Minister Punjab and Deputy Speaker Lok Sabha will be its Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. Following will be the official and non-official members of the committee.

Official Members:  Local Bodies Minister, Rural Dev. & Panchayats & Election Minister, Co-operation Minister, Finance Minister, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Jails & Tourism Minister, Information & Public Relations Minister, Opposition Leader Smt. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Sh. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Member Parliament,  Avinash Rai Khanna, Member Parliament., Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary/Chief Minister, Principal Secretary Finance and Secretary Information & Public Relations. Non- official members -  Jagroop Singh of CPI,  Balwant Singh of CPM,  Avtar Singh Karimpuri of BSP, Prof. Rajinder Bhandari of BJP,  Shamsher Singh Dullo of Congress, . Balwant Singh Ramuwalia of Lok Bhalai Party, Ex-MLA  Inder Iqwal Singh Atwal,   Surinder Singh Namdhari, Harpal singh Namdhari,  Udey Singh Namdhari of Gurudwara Bhaini Sahib.  

Director, Information & Public Relations will be the Member Secretary of the committee. The committee will suggest suitable action to celebrate the year-long programmes.
