CHANDIGARH; The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would formally launch the Atta Dal Scheme at Ludhiana on August 15, 2007.

Disclosing this here Wednesday Ramesh Inder Singh, Chief Secretary Punjab said that all arrangement have been completed in all respects to launch Atta-Dal Scheme on scheduled date. Earlier Mr. Singh held a review meeting with official of various departments from all districts of the State to ensure smooth implementation of this ambitious scheme of SAD-BJP government.

Singh said that 13,21,670 Blue Cards have been prepared and distributions of the cards which was going on would be completed by 8th of August 2007.   However in the four Municipal Towns of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar where elections were to be held distribution of cards would be started after 8th of August which would be completed by 15th of August.

The required quantity of Atta and Dal had already been procured and dispatched to the distribution points so that it would be available with the dealers well before 15th August.
