Shiraz fashions win for Punjab Police |

CHANDIGARH: Formidable Punjab Police got the better of Border Security Force, both of Jalandhar, by 2-1 in the 21st Punjab State Super Football League being sponsored by Non-Resident Indian Shiv Lal Pabby, at the Punjab Armed Police Football Ground in Jalandhar.
The teams were sharing two goals till the 84th minute before Shiraz Hassan romped home the winner for Punjab Police. With this triumph, Punjab Police collected three valuable points, bringing their tally to 10 from five matches. It was Punjab Police's third victory from five outings. With three victories, one draw and one defeat, the Punjab Police have logged 10 points and were two points behind leaders Rail Coach Factory of Kapurthala who have 12 points to their credit from four wins and one draw. Border Security Force along with Mahilpur Football Club are facing relegation for their below-par performance in this edition. BSF have lost three defeats and played two draw for two points. They were at the sixth position in the seven-team league. Mahilpur FC have a solitary point to their credit from four defeats and one draw and were bottom-placed. JCT Academy, Jagatjit Cotton Textile, both of Phagwara and Punjab State Electricity Board have collected seven, six and five points, respectively. |
