Punjab CM announces master plan for Baba Bakala Print E-mail

BABA BAKALA (Amritsar): A  Master plan for the historic city of Baba Bakala would be  prepared soon through world renowned architect  to turn  it  into a global destination for religious tourism.

 

The announcement to this effect was made by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a political conference on the occasion of Rakhar Puniya here Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering Badal said that he was trying to give equal importance to agriculture, trade, industry, power, infrastructure and service sectors simultaneously to bring a revolutionary change in the state.

The Government was providing clean drinking water,  revamping  of sewerage system and road infrastructure especially for rural areas  on priority basis, adding  Badal said  that  Kanak-Dal scheme for poor  had  already been launched successfully .
         
Regarding  the innovative approach to tackle the problem of unemployment  Badal said  that state government was trying to evolve a multi pronged strategy  in  consultation with some expert agency  to tackle the alarming situation of unemployment in the state. 

Referring  the setting up of skill development training centres in the state Badal said that these centres would impart vocational training to unemployed youths  and produce  a trained work force  in various discipline  that could  provide numerous  employment opportunities  for our youth on one hand and  trained  workers  for industrial sector on the other. The government was working to create  3.5 lac jobs every year  that could change the entire scene of the state as far as  the service sector was concerned, added  Badal.

Speaking on the occasion Sukhbir Singh Badal, Member Parliament and Acting President SAD said that it was a known fact that  for the development of any state  the rich power sector  could play an important role . Expressing the firm commitment  of SAD-BJP government to  generate  about  6000 MW additional power  within  next four years ,

Sukhbir Badal said  that the state government had completed all the modalities  regarding setting up of four new thermal plants  at Mansa having capacity of 2000MW, Goindwal  with power general  capacity  600 MW, Rajpura  with capacity 2000 MW and Abohar  with capacity  1500 MW .
