CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Tuesday released a pictorial book titled 'A spiritual Sanctuary of Humanity Sri Harimandar Sahib' authored and compiled by Roop Singh and Rupinder Khullar.  

Speaking on the occasion, Badal said that indeed it was a unique initiative on the part of the authors who had put in lot of hard work in bringing this prestigious publication on Sri Harimandar Sahib which is a spiritual sanctuary for the entire humanity.  He highly appreciated the creative work of Roop Singh and the photographer Rupinder Khullar for the compilation of this master piece in the form of pictorial album with holy sermons from Gurbani.  

 On the occasion, the first copy of the book was presented to the Chief Minister by President of the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee Avtar Singh Makkar.  Badal thanked SGPC Chief and said that he would prefer to keep this treasured publication in his personal life.  

 It may be mentioned that Mr.Roop Singh had served for more than ten years as an editor of the monthly magazine Gurmat Parkash of SGPC.  Post graduate in Punjabi and religious studies Roop Singh is well versed with Sikh history and literature on Sikhism.  He had seven books and several research papers to his credit. Presently, he is serving as Personal Secretary to SGPC chief and additional Secretary SGPC.  

 Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Advisor to Chief Minister Dr.DS Cheema, Chief Secretary RI Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister DS Guru, General Secretary SGPC Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, Secretary Dharam Parchar SGPC Waryam Singh besides eminent Sikh scholars Dr.Jaspal Singh, Dr.Jasbir Singh Sabar, Dr.Kharak Singh, Dr.Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon, Dr.Jodh Singh and Dr.Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia.
