FATEHGARH SAHIB: The Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle unit of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engneering  College, Fatehgarh Sahib  Friday organized the function "Jee Ayaan Nu" for the students of first yar under the supervision of Dr. Harpreet Singh.

The study circle unit awarded "The most aware Singh" and   "The most aware Kaur" titles to the first year  students after screening through various rounds, which consisted of historical, religious and   cultural questions. The programme began with shabad gayan by the students.

In the inaugural session, Principal Dr. T.P. Singh said that the college located on the land of martyrs and  history not only imparts technical education to the students, but also inculcates the religious values among them.

Praising the efforts of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, he emphasized on organizing such programmes that lead to moral and   overall personality development of the students.

Prof. Kanwalvir Singh gave a presentation on the martyrdom of Mata Gujri   and younger Sahibzadas. The final year student Harpreet Singh Sandhu and Puneet Kaur presented a lecture and  poem respectively. Deputy Chief Organizer, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle,   Inderpal Singh said that the study circle has been organizing similar programmes in various educational institutes to instill innovative thinking in students and inculcate a sense of social welfare in them.

The Deputy Chief Organizer  Pirthi Singh said that in the present scenario, where Punjabi Channels & Songs are serving vulgarity in the name of encouraging culture, it has become the need of the hour to organize such similar programmes in various colleges which help in connecting the students with their roots and   rich cultural heritage.

In the end, Harsimran Singh and Sukhpreet Kaur were honoured with titles of "The Most Aware Singh "and "The Most Aware Kaur" respectively. Principal, Dr. T.P. Singh and all the organizers of the programme were presented mementos. The special guests of the evening were Mrs. Kanwaljeet Kaur President, GGSSSU, Fatehgarh Sahib-SAS Nagar, Dr. Sarabdeep Singh, Vice-President,   Amarjeet Singh and  Ruminder Kaur , Member, Zonal Council.
