CHANDIGARH: Hosts St Xavier's Blues (Panchkula), Ryan International-49 (Chandigarh), Delhi Public School ( Pinjore) and Stone Brook School (Kalka) took their appointed place in the  semi-finals of the Chairman's Cup Soccer Tournament for Under-13 being organised by St Xavier's School of Panchkula at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex here Friday.

Ankur Singh and Rahul Rana engineered St Xavier's (Blues), Panchkula, 4-0 victory over Gurukul, also of Panchkula by scoring two goals each in the quarter-final encounter. Ankul got his two goals within a span of two minutes. He netted his goals in the 6th and 7th minutes. Rahul Rana struck in the 10th and 20th minutes.

Ryan International School, Sector 49 Chandigarh ended the challenge of Holly Child of Panchkula by 3-1. The highlight of the match was a brilliant hat-trick by Piyush who scored in the 10th, 35h and 39th minutes. The lone goal for Holly Chand was scored by Pratanshu in the 13th minute. Delhi Public School of Pinjore, who got a bye in the first round, moved into last four at the expense of Alpine School, also of Pinjore by 2-0. Both goals came in the first half. Abhinav and Chityajit scored in the fourth and eighth minute.

In the last quarter-final match Stone Brook School of Kalka defeated Little Flower Convent School of Panchkula by 1-0. The match-winner was scored by Nitin Kapoor in the fifth minute.
Earlier, in the preliminary round matches, Alpine School (Stanzin 7th, Rigzin 9th) beat St Xavier's Black, Panchkula by 2-0.

With Ankur performing hat-trick (13th, 18th, 22nd minutes), St Xavier's Blues, Panchkula routed St Xavier's of Mohali by4-1. Anju had put the winners ahead with a goal in the first minute. Stone Brook (Nitin Kapur, 5th) beat St Xavier's Chandigarh by 1-0. Ryan International beat Doon International Mohali by 1-0. Piyush scored the all-important goal.

The semi-final line-up is: DPS Pinjore vs Stone Book, Kalka and Ryan International vs St Xavier's Blues, Panchkula.

Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Neerja Shekhar inauguated the tournament. Also present on the occasion was St Xavier's chairman Andrew John Gosain.
