CHANDIGARH: Second Pinjore Heritage Festival will be organized at Yadavandra Gardens, Pinjore from October 5 to 7, 2007 with much grandeur and splendor .
While stating this here Saturday, a spokesman of the Tourism Department said that renowned artistes would be invited for the cultural performance. Apart from the cultural evenings, there would be a street Bazar, Food Bazar and competitions for the school and college students of not only of Panchkula but all the three satellite towns of Chandigarh, Panchckula and Mohali. He said that Haryana Tourism had celebrated its 33 anniversary today in a big way by holding celebrations at tourist complexes all across the state. On this occasion 10 per cent discount had been given to all the visitors on food in the restaurants and 15 per cent discount on food to the senior citizens. The children visiting the complexes with their parents were presented special gift packs. He said that all the complexes were lighted and illuminated so as to give a festive look. Welcome banners were put-up at the entrance of all the complexes. To encourage the participation of the schools in the celebrations, Rangoli Competitions were organized at various places. Similarly, cultural programmes were organized at Pinjore-Panchkula, Oasis-Karnal, Skylark-Panipat, Rai-Sonepat, Myna-Rohtak, Surajkund, Badkhal and Magpie complexes in the Faridabad district, Shama-Gurgaon and Grey Pelican-Yamunanagar. He said that Haryana Tourism had completed 33 years of its glorious existence this day. After earning a name in providing neat and clean lodging and boarding facilities now it had ventured into most sought after tourism fields such as Adventure, Golf, Farm and Heritage. Haryana Tourism was a force to reckon with in promotion of Handlooms and Handicrafts by organizing annual Crafts Mela at Surajkund and Krafts Mela at Oasis, Karnal. |
