Punjab farmers block traffic in Amritsar |

AMRITSAR: More than two hundred farmers led by Bhartiya Kissan Sangarsh Union Sunday blocked rail traffic for three hours at Amritsar - Pathankot rail track for three hour at village Kathunangal nearly 30 kilometers away from Amritsar.
Agitating farmers told the media persons that during the regime of chief minister captain Amarinder Singh 376 acre agriculture land were acquired by the Government for Trident Group at Baranala District of Punjab. Adding further farmers said that immediate after the Punjab Assembly election, chief minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal promised with farmers to pay 70% more compensation that would be paid to the farmers of Barnala district till the end of month July but nothing has been done so far. |
