CHANDIGARH:Desh Bhagat Institute has added another feather in its cap by organizing Seminar at international level as disclosed by Zora Singh, the chairman of the Group , from the head office at Chandigarh. Though DBIMCS has already organized many Seminars at National Level in the past but this is the first International Seminar being initiated by Desh Bhagat Institute of Management & Computer Sciences. Delegates from Germany, Pakistan, Austria, England and USA are coming to participate.
National delegates from Indore, Banaras, Kurukshetra, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana have also participated this two day seminar . During the Inaugural Session Master Mohan Lal, Minister for Transport, Punjab, inaugurated the seminar by lightening the lamp, which was followed by Vande Matram. A.J. Philip, Associate Chief Editor of The Tribune declared the Seminar open, while presiding over the Seminar. V.K. Gupta, Regional Jt. Director, Foreign Trade, was the Key note Speaker and M.N. Bandopadhaya, Director, NIT (REC) Kurukshetra,Abhijit Mukherjee, Director, Thaper University & Nalini Tripathi, IIM, Indore were the guest of honour. Izar Ahmed Alam, Ex-DG of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Pakistan and Ms. Ann Woodgyer from New Zealand were the special guests. In continuation with the I phase of International Seminar on "Building World Class Educational Institutes" Its IInd Phase deliberations were held on 5th Sept. at Desh Bhagat Institute of Management at Mandi Gobindgarh.R.K. Mittal from Kurukshetra University as Chairman and Prof. Singla from PAU, Ludhiana, as Co-chairman of the 6th session presided over this Seminar in the Auditorium.David Macland & Urmula Mackland from Germany was the Chief Guest. Surender Vyas, Reader Mgt. College, Bikaner, M. Lakshami Narsaiah from Kurnool, Manisha Gupta from PIMT & Anish Goel, MD Nav Durga Steel Industry, M. G.G., Bagher Hesami, Aziz Shallen Ahmed, Pune University. Shalini Gupta, Director, DBIMCS, M.G.G. & Suresh Rattan from DBIMCS, Shriniwas Patil from Bijapur and David Macland from Germany etc. read out their papers on various burning issues such as "Quality in Education","Private Education to the Poor Masses", "Role of Foreign Trade in Economic Growth", "Inculcation of Scientific Temperament through Education without Labs", "Character Building out Financial Success", "Globalization of Education", "Rural Education" etc. Tikshan Sood, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister of Punjab for Forest & Medical Education was the chief guest in Valedictory session of the Seminar, who was welcomed by Zora Singh, Chairman Desh Bhagat Group & Shalini Gupta, Director, DBIMCS. Vipin Pubby Editor of the Indian Express presided over the function. In his welcome speech Zora Singh sought for necessary help from the Punjab Government in elevating the status of Desh Bhagat Institute to that of a Deemed University within a year. Desh Bhagat Group is all set to make its all the Institutes as World Class Institutes rapidly as is obvious from the fact that the Desh Bhagat Institute has touched the pinnacle of glory within short span of 5 years. Further various resource persons like David Macland, Rezasazeli & Manmohan Kohli read out their papers. After that Tikshan Sood, Hon'ble Minister, felt very happy to see the deliberations of International Seminar organized by the Desh Bhagat Institute at such a big level and assured to provide all assistance as & when required. About 100 delegates from India & Abroad participated in the Seminar which was a great success |
