Family donates eyes of young son killed in accident Print E-mail

FATEHGARH SAHIB: Dalip Nager, Mandi Gobindgarh resident Kishori Lal 14-year-old  son Raman Kumar was killed on Thursday morning  when he was hit was an unidentified car driver near Cheema Filling Station, Mandi Gobindgarh as he was trying to cross the G.T. Road.

Though family of Raman was in great shock but with the efforts of Guru Teg Bahadur Sewa Samiti, they  decided to donate the eyes of the child so that any other person can saw the world through their child’s eyes. An eye surgeon from Civil Hospital, Mandi Gobindgarh was called for donation the late child’s eyes.

When the body was the child was taken at cremation ground at Mandi Gobindgarh at around 4 pm for
cremation by the child’s family and other dignitaries of the town,  the family got a another shock when an official present at cremation ground demanded bribe of Rs 100 and only then he will  allow to cremate the body as he had to collect the ashes of the body. 

Suresh Sharma of Mandi Gobindgarh, who also joined the cremation procession, said that after 1 hour argument, the body was allowed to cremate only after paying the bribe to the official, who was in a drunkard position at that time. He demanded stern action against the official. When contacted  Mandi Gobindgarh MC EO, he said that he would look into the matter.
