FATEHGARH SAHIB: District Fatehgarh Sahib of Punjab as the dubious distinction of having lowest female sex ratio in country but a local family has shown a ray of hope for the girl child when it celebratied the birth of a girl born in family after 40 years.

Infant's grandfather Rattan Singh Benipal said that they has repeatedly prayed to god to bless the family with a girl child and the god has finally listened to their prayers.  He said that his family had not a girl child from the last 40 years since mothers delivered only male children.

He said that his son Kamalpreet Singh Benipal had tied in nuptial knot with Aman and now her daughter-in-law had given birth to a girl child Manvir. He said family was incomplete without a girl.

Newly born Manvir's grand mother Kamalpreet Kaur said that she wants to see Manvir becoming a doctor to serve the humanity. She said that the family has chosen the newly born girl name Manvir as this is name of an eminent doctor of the area.
