Rajinder Kaur Bhattal appointed PPCC president

CHANDIGARH: Rajinder Kaur Bhathal who was on Monday appointed president of Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee(PPCC) thanked AICC president Sonia Gandhi for bestowing trust in her.



Bhattal said here late in the evening that she was taken by surprise when she heard the news on at a TV channel. I had never expected that she would be given responsibility to streamline Congress party in Punjab. She said that she would rejuvenite the party. She also announced to counter the SAD-BJP government which is indulging in vendetta politics. She said that she would take all congressmen along to build a strong base of party in Punjab.

Bhattal a former Chief Minister of Punjab is party MLA from Lehra assembly constituency in Sangrur district. She was at loggerheads with former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh during his tenure from 2002 to 2007. She is considered leader of masses having background of freedom fighters family.
