CHANDIGARH: Haryana Technical Education Department has decided to supply the photo-copies of marked answer sheets to the polytechnic students on payment of Rs. 1000 to bring absolute transparency in the evaluation of their performance in their semester examination.
While stating this here Monday, the Technical Education Minister, A. C. Chaudhry said that instead of the provision of only re-totaling of the marks now, re-evaluation of the answer-sheets by different examiner on the request of the candidate by paying the scheduled re-checking fees would be the other change which would be implemented to bring reform in the system. Chaudhry said that all the information related to sessional examination of the student and their internal marks would be displayed on notice board of the Polytechnic and also on web-site of the Polytechnic. Computerization of examination system was also undertaken for the convenience of the students. The Minister said that this decision was taken in view of the growing number of aspirants in the state opting to pursue technical education. This year over one lakh students appeared in diploma entrance examination. Result compilation was also being computerized from the next semester exams. The software had been got developed from National Informatics Centre, Delhi. In this software the facility would be provided to the students to have access to information regarding attendance record, internal sessional record and examination ledger. The access to the secret information would only remain with the State Board of Technical Education, he added. Chaudhry said that the Examination web-site would be made operational from this academic session to enable the students to browse the website regarding various activities. Examination results were also being made available on web-site for information to all stake holders, he added.
