FATEHGARH SAHIB: Gaiety marked the annual Freshers' Party organized at Canadian Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Jalvehra, Fatehgarh Sahib campus to welcome the new batches of various under graduate and post graduate courses being run in alliance with international institutions.
The gala event which saw participation of yet new batches of youthful and intelligent students enrolling upon an ambitious career in global market enjoy the event to the hilt as CIIS students put up indeed a spectacular show to welcome the younger lot. An electrifying show featuring dance sequences from both freshers as well as seniors, Bhangra by vivacious CIIS hunks and Gidha by mutiyaars had everyone in a state of sheer fun and camaraderie. Besides, a skit, solo songs and the much awaited ramp walk by freshers further set the mood and tone for a perfect fun filled evening which marked the beginning of the new semesters in various streams at CIIS. As jubilant students shook legs and swayed to the tunes of popular numbers the faculty and delegates enjoyed the party to its full. Freshers were subject to a close scrutiny by judges who adjudged Maheet Sandhu (BBA-1) and Gurjai pal Singh (BBA-1) as Miss and Mr. Fresher respectively. As the smartly carrying beautiful dames walked the ramp with their male counterparts for personality analysis, it was aesthetics of new students at their very best with background music complementing the joyous mood. The highlight of the show turned out to be an MOU signed between CIIS and Saber Technologies which has been consistently hiring CIIS pass outs for last few years. The understanding provides broader avenues to CIIS students as Saber Technologies would enhance interaction with students and help provide students with a new outlook of industry as it is progressing today. Speaking about the occasion Dr M S Grewal, Director, CIIS said that another batch of freshers with great hopes and sense of optimism fills us with a renewed vigour to work hard.
