CHANDIGARH: A high level meeting held here Thursday under the Chairmanship of  Manoranjan Kalia, Local Government and Industries & Commerce Minister Punjab decided to form a committee to review the various provisions of   Municipal Acts in the state.

Kalia said that Chief Parliamentary Secretary  Harish Kumar Dhanda, who is also an eminent advocate would be the Chairman of this committee.   

This committee will review the various provisions of various Acts to find out old and archaic provisions which had become redundant to be deleted. Matter shall be got examined legal Remembrance and Law Commission later on, he added. D.S. Bains, Principal Secretary Local Government and  Sameer Kumar, Director Local Government were also present in the meeting.
