
NAWANSHEHAR: Punjab police has decided to install Close Circuit TV's in all the 148 bank brnaches in the district to ensure safety of the banks.
This was decided at a meeting of the Nawanshehar district Security Committee for banks under the chairmanship of SP (H) Jagtar Singh Kainth held here Friday. The steps were being taken to prevent incidents of loot and dacoity as recommendations of the Punjab Bank Security Committee.
Kainth later said that it was decided to install CTVs in all the 148 bank branches in the district. Various kinds of sensors would also be installed in the banks so as to ensure timely information to the concerned department in case of any mishap including incidents of fire, he said. Kainth added the banks would be provided alternative guards in case their guards proceed on some emergency leave. SHOs have been briefed in this regard, said the SP, adding that all reports related to the security of banks from the state committee would be discussed in the district committee in future for taking appropriate actions.
The police would further keep a round-the-clock watch on the banks. According to the District Lead Manager H.L.Bains, the issues related security of banks would be reviewed after every three months. Fire Officer Labh Singh also attended the meeting.
