FATEHGARH SAHIB; Manjit Singh, a resident of village Mandofal of district Fatehgarh Sahib has been booked by Fatehgarh Sahib police fon the complaint of Sirhind resident Avtar Singh in fraud case.
As per Avtar Singh, Manjit Singh often comes to his PCO to make calls. He said that when both become friends Manjit Singh introduced himself as official of Railway Department and he had directed links with certain officials who are close to Railway Minister. He said that during conversation Manjit Singh told him that his department has advertised some posts and if he is ready to pay Rs 1 lakh he will provide job for his son easily. Avtar Singh said that he accepted Manjit Singh’s proposal. As per the proposal, Avtar Singh had to pay Rs 25,000 in advance and remaining amount after completion of the training when his son will get his first salary. He said that Manjit Singh visited his shop with a recruitment form of Railway Department and after filling the form had taken Rs 25,000 cash from him. He said that to satisfy him Manjit Singh had even given him an affidavit that his money would be returned if his son did not get job. He said that after some time Manjit Singh again approached Avtar Singh and said that he can adjust his son only if he is ready to pay Rs 50,000 more and Avtar Singh paid the amount. Avtar Singh said that a village Mandofal resident had also given Rs 25,000 to Manjit Singh to provide job to the villager son. He said that one day he met Manjit Singh’s relative when he had gone to village Mandofal and the relative told him that Manjit Singh is committing fraud with people on the pretext of providing jobs to people in railway. He said that when he contacted Avtar Singh assured him to return his money but did not return money so he complained to Fatehgarh Sahib SSP. The SSP directed Economic Offence wing to investigate the case. Police is conducting raids to arrest Manjit Singh |
