CHANDIGARH: Labour Minister, Punjab Tikshan Sud asked Director General Police, Punjab N.P.S. Aulakh to take all possible steps to provide protection to all citizens of Punjab including migrant labourers working in the State.
The Labour Minister had a detailed discussion with State DGP after yesterday's blast at Ludhiana Cinema, purposely targeted at migrant labourers working in the State. District Labour officers have also been issued instructions to identify the places where predominantly migrant labourers were working and have been asked to provide these details to District Police Chiefs, to provide security cover to them. The BJP Minister said that yesterday's blast was clearly a terror attack and handiwork of terrorists having no religion. He said that blasts seemed to have been triggered with a sole purpose of creating communal disturbance in the State especially during the festival season.. He said that Punjab Government committed to deal the situation with firm hand and maintain peace and harmony in the State. Sud said that Punjab after decade long spell of terrorism was moving on the path of accelerated development under the dynamic leadership of our Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and it was an attempt by nefarious elements to scuttle the march of Punjab on the path of progress and it would not be allowed, he added. |
