LUDHIANA: Unable to crack the Ludhiana Shingar Cinema Bomb blast, the Punjab Police has now announced a reward of Rs. one lakh for giving information about the person behind the blast.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Ludhiana Range) Ishwar Singh said that the name of the person giving the information will be kept a secret. 'The information MAY be given to SSP or SP (Detective) Ludhiana,' Singh added. At least six people were killed and 16 others were injured in the blast that took place on October 14 in the auditorium of the cinema hall. The blast occurred when Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari's film 'Janam Janam Ka Saath' was being screened. The explosion occurred at 8.30 p.m. when close to 500 people were watching the evening show that started showing movie 'Janam Janam Ka Saath' after interval. According to eyewitnesses, a loud explosion was heard near the front stall of the auditorium and that the number of toll would increase. The blast coincided with the Eid festival leading to widespread chaos. Punjab police is gropin in the dark about the blast. The police has named Gurpreet Singh as one of the suspects who was caught with RDX a few weeks ago. He had abandoned the car in which RDX was found and absconded. |
