FATEHGARH SAHIB: A 29-year-old Muslim youth Karanbir Khan, a resident of village Dubali of district Fatehgarh Sahib shot dead at village Manupur on Sunday night when he was returning to his home after attending Dusheera celebrations.
On the statement of Kuldeep Khan, a resident of village Dubali, the Fatehgarh Sahib police has registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and started investigations. Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Nilabh Kishore and other senior officials reached on spot. Police is making all efforts to ascertain the reason of the murder. Police sources said different raiding parties had been dispatched to different places to arrest the accused. The services of fingerprint experts and dog squads were also taken. According to information received, Karanbir Khan son of Kartar Singh was not originally a Muslim. He was married to a girl Soni, a resident of village Radiala of SAS Nager district and the couple had two children. Karanbir He was earlier working as a barber but later purchased a three-wheeler to earn his livelihood. Sources said that when on Sunday night around 8 PM some villagers of Dubali was returning to their village they noticed Karanbir's three-wheeler standing near village Manupur and half of his body was in the three-wheeler and half was ground. Later they informed the police. Sources said that two bullets were fired on the deceased and he was killed on the spot. Sources said that cash of Rs 900 and mobile was in the pocket of the deceased so there are remote chances that there was motive of looting behind killing. |
