NAWANSHEHAR: Showcasing their mettle, students and teachers of Kirpal Sagar Academy, Rahon bagged the first three positions, five second positions and three third positions at the district-level science exhibition that concluded yesterday at M.R.City Public School Balachaur.
The exhibition was organized by the State Institute of Science and Technology, Chandigarh in association with the district education department. According to vice-principal Rajesh Chandel, model of low cost refrigeration prepared by Manisha Virk and Nimrat, that of Drip Irrigation prepared by the team of Anupinder and Harvinder and the model of Soil Erosion prepared by Rohit and Bhupesh won the first positions and were selected for state-level exhibition to be held shortly. Similarly, said Chandel, three other models on Water Conservation, Geo-thermal Energy and Alert Signal before Tsunami, prepared by the Academy students including Rakhia Balu, Sabatini, Aseem Sharma, Gurtej, Naman and Arvinder were adjudged second. The school's quiz team comprising Rohit Dhingra and Rupinder also won the second slot in the competition. The students were guided by the teachers including Vineet Arora, Tajinder Kumar, Rajvir Kaur, Poonam Bhardwaj and Sukhjeewan Kaur. Vineet Arora also won the second slot in Teaching Aids competitions held for the teachers. As many as 52 models were exhibited at the competitions. Balachaur MLA Chaudhary Nand Lal gave away the prizes to the winners. |
