Women visit husbands lodged in Amritsar jail Print E-mail

AMRITSAR: Nearly one hundred women  visited the Central jail Amritsar here Monday on the eve of Karva Chauth for meeting with their detained husbands.

 

Superintendent Amritsar Central Jail Amritsar Captain S.P. Singh said that y nearly one hundred women on the eve of Karva Chauth were allowed to meet their husbands who were detained in jail due to the various crimes, allegedly committed by them.

Captain Singh said that  all the detainees were given sufficient time to exchange their pleasantries.

Adding further Captain Singh said that similarly women who are detained in the jail were also allowed to meet their husbands and they were also given sufficient time to spent with their family members.

On this occasion a religious function, wherein a Hindu priest organized Katha (religious discourses) as per Hindu religion for the women detainees inside the jail premises.
