CHANDIGARH: The Reliance Mobile’s, India’s leading telecom service provider, has taken initiative to organize Regional selection for Campus Rock Idols, India’s largest Inter College Rock Music Competition on November 4, 2007 at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, Chandigarh.

The show will feature a series of ‘Reliance Rockshalas’ where college students can test their musical mettle and participate in a series of contests and activities. The Big 92.7 FM is the radio partner of the event and it woud update the listeners on the latest happenings.

This is the third year of Campus Rock Idol and the contest began on October 27, 2007 and will travel to 10 cities across India in a series of regional and zonal events before culminating in a grand finale in Delhi on December 2, 2007.  

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Behl, Brand Head, Reliance Communications, said, “We are extremely pleased to continue our on-going partnership with Campus Rock Idols. Reliance Communications has a long standing  of supporting and promoting young talent and this initiative is an extension of this endeavour. The Reliance Rockshalas will provide amateur bands across India with an opportunity to express their rock quotient in an atmosphere of fun and excitement,” 

Reliance Rockshala epitomizes the spirit of young India and the ‘break free’ attitude of today’s youth. These ‘Mobile Rockshalas’ will transform into fixed Rockshalas at the venue of Campus Rock Idols and students and others attending the contest can participate in different activities

An official spokesman said on Wednesday that activities at the Rockshalas include Rock Quotient (RQ), a rock-based quiz, which will test your mettle as a die hard rock, and the winner will get a Motorola handset. Besides this, Reliance Subscribers can download Rock videos, truetones, polytones, wallpapers and can participate in a contest by using Reliance Mobile  World (R World)   by clicking on Reliance Mobile World >Hot n New>Campus Rock or  by Dialing 51234 and saying “ Rock” to win Motorola handsets.
