AMRITSAR: Ten members of a family killed when their car fell in the defence Drain at village Buchar in Tarn Taran district nearly 45 kilometers away from Amritsar.

According to the police this unfortunate accident took place Friday night after 9.oo p.m. The villagers who were informed by a passerby rushed to spot for rescue operations.

Giving the detail of the accident SSP Tarn Taran P.K Rai said that last night when ten members of a family coming after attending marriage party and when their car was passing over the Defense drain, all of sudden fell in the drain as driver of the car lost his control over the steering wheel of the car.

SSP said that it there was no street light and driver of the car could not access the exact direction of the road due to sharp turn on the road and lost his control over the car which fell in drain. 

SSP said that it was Maruti Atlo car and there were ten passengers were traveling, the car was overloaded and it may the one of the reason as the driver lost his control over the car over the defence drain due to sharp road curve.

Ten family members who were traveling in the car including driver Davinder Singh died on the spot. Other family members were identified as Davinder Kaur (32), Karmajit Kaur (30), Navdeep Kaur (20), Kiran (28), Muskan (5), Jashandeep (3), Simran  (10), Sawinder (12).
