Guru Sar Mehraj (Bathinda)- Expressing anger at the Union government for its inability to detain the megalomaniac baba, Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the Khalsa Action Committee at a well attended conference held at Guru Sar Mehraj near here resolved to shift the struggle from Panjab to Delhi by announcing strong demonstration against Congress President Sonia Gandhi outside 10, Janpath Rd (Delhi ) on 18th December.

Bhai Mohkam Singh, the convenor of the Khalsa Action Committee while announcing the programme said that the state of Punjab, Haryana and the Centre had failed to do justice to the Sikhs.  He said representatives of various organizations would be the part of the jatha that would hold a sit in (dharna) outside the residence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Hitting out at the Congress, he said it was playing with the sentiments of the Sikh Nation by following the anti-Sikh policies of late Indira Gandhi. The pseudo-baba continues his nefarious and venomous campaign unabatedly against the Sikhs and that Khalsa Action Committee was totally dissatisfied with the manner in which he has been let off by the courts on bail.

Addressing the gathering, the co-convenor of the KAC, Bhai Daljit Singh said the Guru Manayo Granth conference was meant to uphold the significance and importance of Shabad Guru and to declare to the world that under no circumstances will the denigration of Guru Granth Sahib be tolerated.

Kanwarpal Singh, the spokesperson of the KAC said the protest against the Congress was aimed to expose the designs of the Union government that has been patronizing the pseudo baba's to undermine Sikh tradition and ethos. He said the Sikhs would not rest until Sirsa baba was put behind bars. SGPC member Karnail Singh Panjoli rued that it was illogical and wrong that even a Sikh Prime Minister had not been able to gauge the seriousness of the issue. The patience of the entire community has been placed on test, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, former Jathedar of Akal Takht said, that the government of Panjab was an accomplice in the pseudo-Nirankari case and its present role also shows a similar tilt in that direction. He said it seems the governments at centre and Punjab have not learnt any lessons.

A number of key resolutions were adopted at today's conference which saw a large cross section of the Malwa belt of Punjab present at the conference in full Sikh colours. The Khalsa Action Committee urged the government of Punjab to reconsider its stand about giving sole rights of printing and publication of Granth Sahib to the SGPC.   The KAC reiterated its resolve to carry on the struggle against the Sirsa and Ashutosh cult, which were hell-bent to mislead the Sikhs and to damage Sikh tradition and philosophy.

Through a resolution the gathering appealed to Akal Takht jathedar and the SGPC to install the portrait of Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale by Nov 23- the day the SGPC is going to elect its new president.

As the present Sikh leadership had failed to curb the deterioration of value systems amongst the Sikhs, the KAC will strive to build a value system and provide new leadership to the Sikh nation.
