104 year-old woman passes away in Punjab village Print E-mail

FATEHGARH SAHIB: One of the region's oldest woman , Harbhajan Kaur, recently passed away at the age of 104 in village Mustafabad of this district. She was in control of her  senses at the time of her  death, according to his family. Her  husband Hajoora Singh  had died long time ago in 1985  and one of her  sons and a daughter  had also expired. She had three sons and one daughter .

 

Her son-in-law is former SGPC member Jaswant Singh Tann.  Ranjodh Singh, , grandson of  Harbhajan Kaur, who is working at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib  informed that her  grandmother  led a simple life, and never suffered from any serious disease. She partook of balanced, nutritious diet and was fond of milk and 'desi ghee'.  He  said that though her  grandmother  was not well educated, he used to recite Gurbani and holy Guru Granth Sahib. She was a 'Amritdhari' woman.

Ranjodh said that her grand mother first time suffered paralyis attack first time on October 30 evening .  The Antim Ardas of Bachan Singh will be held on November 18  at village Mustafabad near Bassi Pathana. It may be mentioned here that one of the region's oldest man, Bachan Singh, last month  passed away at the age of 115 . He was also native of village Mustafabad .
