FATEHGARH SAHIB: Sikh Students Federation (SSF) has asked the Punjab Government and Amritsar Administration to withdraw order of Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar issued under the provisions of Cr. P. C 1973 prohibiting the Publications and Printing of Birs of Guru Granth Sahib by any publisher expect SGPC and its' authorized printers.
SSF president Paramjit Singh Gazi termed it as undue interference of State Machinery in religious affairs. He said that only the Panth has authority to take collective decision on these matters and interference by State Politics can not be tolerated. "We have already taken the matter with Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Joginder Singh and suggested that a Panthic ommittee should be formed to lay down norms for preparing Birs of Sri Guru Granth Sahib." Gazi informed. No State law, ordinance etc. shall be allowed to prevail in this regard, as it harms sovereignty of Panth, he added. |
